Granada Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match is against Granada away from home in the Nuevo Estadio de Los Carmenes in the La Liga match day 36. The last Real Madrid game was against Sevilla which was a good display in the all departments but very controversial referring decisions provided two goals to Sevilla and a Draw.

The team rating for the match against Sevilla can be found here: Team Rating

Currently Real are a ailing side, with several players joining back after injury but they need to win at any cost to have any chance of winning the league.

Earlier the home game was a 2-0 Win. And last season this fixture was a 1-2 win.

Looking at the

Injury list:

  2. Lucas Vazquez
  3. Varane
  4. Ramos

  1. None

  • None
Coach Comments:
  • Zidane: “At the end? I was very angry. The hand-ball rule is not consistent.”
  •
Other Comments:
  • Modrić: "We are still alive in the title race. It was an unfortunate incident to concede the penalty. It was bad luck for us. We weren't as good in the game in the 1st half. We did everything possible to win the game. We're ok physically."
Squad Updates:

This will be the Fiftieth game of the season and Real have been inconsistent in the matches and the results, they have had 28 wins, 12 Draws and 9 losses. In the last few games the performance has been poor especially in mid-field and with this recovering team it is not making it any easier.

Granada are a good side and are good in attack, so Real will need to be careful in all departments and be ready for their counters.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been in a good form. He has supported the defense pretty well but has not received the same from the team and with so many changes due to injury it is getting tough.

Mendy should start on the left . As Ramos is not available and Varane is also injured, Nacho and Militao will start. Carvajal is also out injured. So, Odriozola should start. Mendy, Nacho, Militao and Odriozola should start. Marcelo and Miguel should be available as substitutes.

Modric have been poor and looked slow in the last few games but he has been exceptional before that. Kroos has been great! So, Modric and Kroos should start along with Casemiro. Isco, Arribas, Valverde and Blanco should be available on the bench.

The forwards have been poor all season except last game, Hazard is back but should not start and Vinicius should start on the left and Asensio will start on the right. And Benzema should start upfront.  Mariano, Rodrygo and Hazard should start from the Bench.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more changes in the second half if the score is conducive especially taking into account the team's fatigue.

The probable substitutions will be:

Vinicius > Hazard
Modric > Valverde
Mendy > Marcelo/Miguel
Kroos >  Blanco
Benzema/Asensio > Rodrygo

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the game will be the home kit!!!

So the final starting 11 will be:

Mendy OUT <> Marcelo OUT <> Miguel IN
