Cadiz Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match is against Cadiz away from home in the Nuevo Estadio Ramon de Carranza in the La Liga match day 31. The last Real Madrid game was against Getafe which was a poor display with a lot of regulars missing, it was a hard fought draw.

Currently Real are a ailing side, with several regulars out but need to win at any cost to be alive in the title race. 

Earlier the home game was a 0-1 Loss for Real.

• Zidane: "We have given the maximum. We have lacked clarity offensively and defensively, very well. We have lacked something upstairs. A draw but we continue fighting. It will not end here." 

Other Comments:

• Marcelo: "We all have to get on with it, give our maximum. I don't think I've had a secondary role this season, I'm one of the captains & I play very well when I do. I've had minutes today and I want to continue playing. It's difficult when you play after being out for a while." 

Squad Updates:

This will be the Forty Fourth game of the season and Real have been too inconsistent in the matches and so has been the results, they have had 26 wins, 9 Draws and 8 losses. In the last few games the performance has been poor especially in attack and with this ailing team it is not making the run any easier.

Cadiz is a struggling side and are good in the defense, so Real will need to be careful in both departments and be ready for their counters.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been in a good form. He has supported the defense very well but has not received the same from the team and more so with so many changes owing to the mishaps in defense.

Marcelo should start on the left in absence of Mendy, as there is no other option. As Ramos is out injured, Nacho should start along with Militao and Varane should start, it is expected that Varane will recover from COVID. Carvajal is now back and might play as a substitute. So Marcelo, Varane, Militao and Nacho should start. Carvajal, Odriozola and Chust should be available as substitutes.

Modric has been off pace in the last few games, he seems exhausted. Same goes with Kroos, who has been exceptional otherwise like Modric. So, Kroos and Modric should start. As Casemiro is back after suspension he should be back. Isco, Arribas and Blanco should start from the bench. 

The forwards have been poor all season except, they have been wasting many chances in front of the goal.  Hazard is possibly back but might not start and Vinicius should start on the left, being good in the last three games. With Asensio playing well, he should get his chance ahead of Rodrygo. And Benzema should start upfront.  

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half especially taking into consideration the team's fatigue and injuries.

The probable substitutions will be:

Kroos > Blanco

Benzema > Mariano

Real Madrid Vs Cadiz: The Starting 11

    

The upcoming match is against Cadiz at home in the La liga match day 6. Real Madrid will play their second home match of the season. The last Real Madrid game in the league against Levante was a good performance but was full of missed chances, which they managed to win 0-2.

Last year this fixture was not played as Cadiz are newly promoted.

Squad Updates:

This will be the fifth game of the season and Real have missed several good opportunities in the previous games, this game is very crucial. Madrid needs to win this at any cost to get the confidence back with several players missing due to injury.

Cadiz has won two away games and have a 100% away record and 100% clean sheet record in the away games. So, Real will have to be extra careful.

In the goal Lunin will start as Courtois is injured . This will be his first game and he will need to be extra careful.

As Mendy wont be able to practice more than once, Marcelo will be the first choice. Ramos and Varane will start as the center backs, there is no doubt in it. With Carvajal and Odriozola both being injured Nacho should be the option on the right. So Marcelo, Ramos, Varane and Nacho should start. Defence was good except for some switching off leading to the goal scoring chances in the last game, we were saved by Courtois in the goal. So, the defence will have to be very careful especially when Courtois is not available.

Modric was really good in the last game, and controlled the game but would need more time to recover, hence should start on the bench and come on as a substitute in the second half. Valverde was equally good and with better recovery should start again but might start from the bench as would be traveling from South America. And  Ødegaard is also likely to start from the bench. Isco having practiced more with the squad should get the nod to start and Kroos having the one getting most rest is likely to start. So it is going to be Kroos, Casemiro and Isco in the middle. Casemiro will be needed to support the defence against the attacks in absence of the regulars. And Isco will be required to support the attack on the flank with Asensio.

The forwards have recovered from injuries except for Hazard. Asensio will start on the right, Vinicius on the left and Benzema will be the main striker. So Vinicius, Benzema and Asensio should start, and  Jovic, Rodrygo and Lucas Vazquez should be on the bench.
