Last year this fixture was not played as Cadiz are newly promoted.

Looking at the

Injury list:

  6. Odriozola

  1. None

Squad Updates:

This will be the fifth game of the season and Real have missed several good opportunities in the previous games, this game is very crucial. Madrid needs to win this at any cost to get the confidence back with several players missing due to injury.

Cadiz has won two away games and have a 100% away record and 100% clean sheet record in the away games. So, Real will have to be extra careful.

In the goal Lunin will start as Courtois is injured . This will be his first game and he will need to be extra careful.

As Mendy wont be able to practice more than once, Marcelo will be the first choice. Ramos and Varane will start as the center backs, there is no doubt in it. With Carvajal and Odriozola both being injured Nacho should be the option on the right. So Marcelo, Ramos, Varane and Nacho should start. Defence was good except for some switching off leading to the goal scoring chances in the last game, we were saved by Courtois in the goal. So, the defence will have to be very careful especially when Courtois is not available.

Modric was really good in the last game, and controlled the game but would need more time to recover, hence should start on the bench and come on as a substitute in the second half. Valverde was equally good and with better recovery should start again but might start from the bench as would be traveling from South America. And  Ødegaard is also likely to start from the bench. Isco having practiced more with the squad should get the nod to start and Kroos having the one getting most rest is likely to start. So it is going to be Kroos, Casemiro and Isco in the middle. Casemiro will be needed to support the defence against the attacks in absence of the regulars. And Isco will be required to support the attack on the flank with Asensio.

The forwards have recovered from injuries except for Hazard. Asensio will start on the right, Vinicius on the left and Benzema will be the main striker. So Vinicius, Benzema and Asensio should start, and  Jovic, Rodrygo and Lucas Vazquez should be on the bench.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half.

The probable substitutions will be:

Vinicius > Rodrygo
Kroos > Ødegaard/Modric
Isco > Modric/Valverde
Asensio > Lucas Vazquez
Benzema > Jovic
Casemiro > Valverde

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the Cadiz game will be the home kit !!!

So the final starting 11 will be:

The Starting 11: Best team for the first quarter Real Madrid

Real Madrid have completed 9 matches in the La liga, which is approximately 25% of the campaign. And they have played 3 matches in Champion's league which has a maximum of 13 matches to win it. Effectively 25% of the season is over. The standings are as follows, 2nd in the league behind Barcelona, having played most of the top teams except Barcelona. If they continue the same momentum they have a good chance in the league, and just to point they have done so with several injuries. Real has lost just one match but overall performance needs improvement So the future seems bright, the team needs more consistency in defence and goal keeping. In the champion's league they are second behind PSG, who have a 100% win record. One desperate win, one tough draw and a bad loss, the shape of the team is not great. They will qualify it seems but given the easy group, things are not smooth for sure. But going ahead their solid performance is what is required. In the competitio...

Shaktar Donetsk Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match against Shaktar Donetsk is an away game in the Champions league match day 5.  The last Real Madrid game was against Alaves which was the worst performance of the season. This was pathetic display in every department leading to a dismal loss. It was the 1st home defeat to Alaves in 20 years, says volumes about the teams display. The team had 20 shots, of which 9 were on target and only 1 goal which meant the intensity in attack was totally missing. The team rating for the match against Alaves can be found here:  Team Rating This is the fifth game of the group stage and Real have no option but to win this for their fans and for themselves and to keep their chance of progression alive. Looking at the Injury list: Ramos Odriozola Valverde Hazard Carvajal Suspended : None Just recovered: Militao Benzema Practiced: The rest of the players are available for selection.  Skipped Practice: None Coach Comments: There is no explanation.
