Zaragoza Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11


The upcoming match is against Zaragoza away from home in the Copa del Rey round of 16. As this is a knock out tie and with the new format there is no 2nd leg Madrid is not going to take any risks this time out.
Looking at the 

Injury list:
  1. Asensio
  2. Hazard
  3. Bale
Both Asensio and Hazard  have been injured for a long time now. And have not been practicing with the team. Both have started individual workouts now. We hope their recovery is faster and soon they start playing with the team. Bale picked up injury in the ankle during the Copa del Rey match and will not be available for this tie.

Asensio and Hazard continue their recovery processes. Others are practicing with the team.

  • This is a crucial game before the Madrid Derby, several players will get rotated and Carvajal will return after the break during the La liga game due to suspension.

This is a crucial game for the Copa del Rey title race.

In the goal Areola will start and provide rest to Courtois, he too had some good games in the past, things look definitely very positive for Areola and Real Madrid.

Ramos and Nacho will start as the center backs and provide rest to Militao and Varane. Marcelo will start on the left and Carvajal will start on the right.So Marcelo, Ramos, Nacho and Carvajal should start. Defence has been in good form and is expected to prevent the occasional errors those have led to the goals in the past games.

All the five super mid-fielders are doing great, Modric, Kroos, Valverde, Isco and Casemiro. It is a very difficult decision for ZZ. Taking the past game's rigor and current fitness level into considerations it is going to be Modric, Casemiro and James in the middle. Kroos, Isco and Valverde will be on the bench.

As Hazard and Asensio have been injured and the attacking needs to be in order after several injuries, Jovic, Vinicius and Brahim should start. And Rodrygo, Benzema and Lucas Vazquez should be on the bench. 

So the formation would be 4 3 3, with Vinicius and Brahim on the flanks and switching during the game.

PSG Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11 Post Match

The team started with the predicted starting 11, and as believed it was the best option available. Even the subs were as expected, only James went out instead of Benzema as there were requirement of 2 goals. The analysis is fairly simple, Real were poor in every department, attack, mid-field, defence and goal keeping. They started well in the first few minutes, controlling ball and moving forward. In my opinion PSG were more confident and got luck with the first goal, the break was there but both defence and goal keeper should have done better.
