Real Madrid Vs Huesca : The Starting 11

The upcoming match against Huesca at home in the La liga match day 8. Real Madrid will play their fourth home match of the season. The last Real Madrid game was against Borussia Mönchengladbach which was a unlucky draw, this was one of the revival performances of the team after a mis-firing first half.

The team rating for the match against Borussia Mönchengladbach can be found here: Team Rating

This is going to be a crunch tie, as Real have suffered their first loss at home in two seasons from a promoted side. Real have no option but to win this for themselves and to keep their title chances kicking.

Last year this fixture was not played.

Squad Updates:

This will be the ninth game of the season and Real have been inconsistence in all departments. In the last game forwards were misfiring and conversion was an issue even after creating several chances. Forwards are mis-firing, defence is in disarray, and mid field is not always alert. This game is very important and would decide who would remain on the top of the table. Madrid needs to win this at any cost, given that they had a very poor October month.

Huesca has a good structure and their counters are very efficient. So, Real will have to be very careful.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been leaking goals in the last few games even though his form has been fairly good, his coordination with the defence is a bit of problem.

Marcelo should start on the left even when his form has been poor as Mendy has been playing full 90 mins every 2 days. And his performance  in the last game was really bad as per his standards. Ramos and Varane will start as the center backs, there is no doubt in it. Carvajal, Odriozola and Nacho suffered injuries and now Lucas Vazquez should be the favorite to start on the right. So Marcelo, Varane, Ramos and Lucas Vazquez should start. Defence has been in shambles after the international break.

Modric has been good but is unable to find the link up play with other mid fielders. The last few games have been disastrous for the mid field with complete chaos and lack of coordination leading to goals. Real needs to get the control back, which they did in the last two games but were unable to convert the chances. And on the break led to goals due to lack of structure. It will be the old guards again. Kroos, Casemiro and Modric will start. And Valverde and Isco might start from the bench.

The forwards have been mis-firing for the second season now. Benzema has been better especially in the second half of the last game, Jovic has shown some sparks but is generally lost. Vinicius is the only one who shows some promise but his last game was very poor. Now Hazard is also available but  Vinicius should start again on the left and Benzema upfront, and Rodrygo should start on the right providing some rest to Asensio.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more changes in the second half.

The probable substitutions will be:

Vinicius > Hazard
Kroos/Casemiro > Valverde
Modric > Isco
Rodrygo > Asensio
Benzema > Jovic, seems very unlikely though

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the Huesca game will be the home kit !!!

So the final starting 11 will be:

Real Madrid vs Manchester City: The Starting 11

Before going into the next Match I will rate the performance of players in the last game vs Levante. Benzema: 3/10, Only misses and bad finishes, final third game play missing. Hazard: 4/10, created a few chances, missed a sure 1 on 1 chance, got injured again Isco: 5/10, too much 1-2 passes and final third game play missing, need to release quicker. Good distribution outside the box. Modric: 7/10, did his bit, created ample chances, could have pressed better for the goal, but was surely a wonder strike  Casemiro: 8/10, did all he was supposed to do, took a yellow when required, made his presence felt in the attack as well, could have headed it home but missed. Kroos: 6/10, good first half, lacked the precision in the second half and after the goal seemed lost. Seemed he was out of gas. Marcelo: 7/10, did very well to be honest, some defensive lapses were there but with the amount of offensive positioning it is expected. Need to get better in crossing than this but hardly any

Real Betis Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

Before going into the next match I will rate the performance of players in the last game vs Barcelona in the El Clasico. Benzema: 5/10, Poor game that has very less involvement, only misses and bad finishes, final third game play was better than previous game but still not up to the mark. Vinicius: 9/10, Became the youngest to score in the El Clasico, had several good plays. The early yellow could have made him a little cautious but played his heart out and recovered 3-4 balls for the team. Isco: 8.5/10, Good game and a few good runs, a great shot at goal which was stopped by the keeper. He was good in distribution as well, could have taken a few more chances but was a bit of communication problem with Marcelo. Kroos: 8/10, Seemed the one to orchestrate the game. Great assist in the first goal and maintained composure throughout the game, even under pressure, coordinated well with attack and defence really well.  Casemiro: 8.5/10, What a game! With an assist or goal he would hav

First I would like to see the  Injury list : Asensio Mendy Marcelo (Relapse of injury) Nacho Courtois Suspended : 1.       None  Just recovered: 1.     Isco (no game time yet) Practiced: All except the injured lot. Skipped Practice: None Coach Comments: Zidane confirmed unavailability of Courtois.  Question: Bale as left wing-back? Zidane: “No, I haven't been thinking about that at all. I believe that we've got other options ahead of that one. Militão is an option, he's a defender and has played there. He's also played at right wing-back. It's an option". Zidane: “There is no hierarchy. When you've got a squad like ours, you can't say that any one player is more important than another. My players train well
