Alcoyano Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match is against Alcoyano away from home in the Copa Del Rey round of 32. The last Real Madrid game was against Athletic Bilbao which was very bad result after abysmal display in all departments but there were several opportunities wasted by the forwards and defensive errors costed us the game.

The team rating for the match against Athletic can be found here: Team Rating

This is a knock out game and Real need to win this at any cost. The tie is one legged and the format has changed since last year.

Coach Comments:
  • We're doing the right things and we have to keep it up.
Other Comments:
  • Nacho did really well filling in for Ramos.
Squad Updates:

This will be the Twenty sixth game of the season and Real have been too inconsistent in their performances, they have 14 wins, 5 Draws and 6 losses. In the last few matches the performance has dropped significantly, efficiency in front of goal needs to improve a lot, defensive errors and midfield chance creation has also taken its toll.

Alcoyano has had a great run of form, and have defeated Huesca in their last knock out game. So, Real will need to be very careful to score goals and not concede.

In the goal Lunin will start, he has not played a single minute.

Marcelo should start on the left. Militao and Nacho will start as the center backs. But as Carvajal is recovering from injury Odriozola will start on the right. So Marcelo, Militao, Nacho and Odriozola should start. Defense has been leaking goals and too many errors have led to goals in all the games where we have conceded.

We should see refreshed mid field after so many games, with Ødegaard, Valverde and Isco in the starting eleven. And Modric, Kroos and Casemiro should start from the bench.

The forwards have been poor, they have been wasting several chances in front of the goal. With Jovic gone, Mariano, Vinicius and Hazard may start. Benzema, Asensio and Lucas Vazquez will start from the Bench.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half especially taking into consideration the team's fitness.

The probable substitutions will be:

Hazard > Asensio
Ødegaard > Kroos
Isco > Modric
Odriozola > Carvajal (if he is available)
Vinicius > Lucas Vazquez

So the formation would be 4 2 1 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the game will be the home kit!!!

So the final starting 11 will be:

PSG Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11 Post Match

The team started with the predicted starting 11, and as believed it was the best option available. Even the subs were as expected, only James went out instead of Benzema as there were requirement of 2 goals. The analysis is fairly simple, Real were poor in every department, attack, mid-field, defence and goal keeping. They started well in the first few minutes, controlling ball and moving forward. In my opinion PSG were more confident and got luck with the first goal, the break was there but both defence and goal keeper should have done better. Even after the 14th minute goal team was fine, seemed deflated a bit but were still creating chances but not able to shoot on the target. Forwards were getting frustrated, mid-field was slowing down and getting tired, but once the 2nd goal happened in the 33rd minute the team just lost hope. And this goal was because defence just gave enough space, the marking was not off, but the pressing was too poor. Clear indication f...
