Real Madrid Vs Valencia: The Starting 11

The upcoming match is against Valencia at home in the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in the La Liga match day 23. The last Real Madrid game was against Getafe which was a decent play after a makeshift team with players playing on unrecognized positions started clicking in the second half. After scoring the goal they looked very comfortable.

The team rating for the match against Getafe can be found here: Team Rating

Right now Real need to win at any cost so that they get their respect back and take revenge of last time around, and the gap at the top is already huge.

Earlier in the season Valencia won 4-1 but there were several controversies in the game. Last year Real won this fixture 3-0

Other Comments:
  • Benzema post-game: "That was a good goal. Good croos from Vini and it ended up at the back of the net. We played with a lot of belief and it's always a difficult game vs Getafe. We just have to be concentrated on our game, there's still a long way to go."
Squad Updates:

This will be the Thirty first game of the season and Real have been fairly inconsistent in their games and results, they have had 17 wins, 5 Draws and 8 losses. In the last several matches the performance has dipped and with this thin squad things are getting complicated as injuries keep piling.

Valencia is having their own struggle.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been in a good form. He has supported the defense really well but has not received the same treatment from the team.

Mendy should start on the left. As Ramos is out after surgery Militao might return but Nacho should get the nod ahead of him and Varane will start as the center backs. Carvajal should be fit by this week's game, he should start on the right. So Mendy, Nacho, Varane and Carvajal should start. But if Carvajal is taken out due to relapse of the injury, it would be Mendy, Nacho, Varane and Marvin.

Modric has been a bit off his usual best and with Kroos returning after his suspension both should start. So, Kroos, Casemiro and Modric should start. Marvin, Isco, Arribas, Lucas Vazquez and Valverde should start from the bench.

The forwards have been poor all season, they have been spurning chances in front of the goal. With some improvements in the last game the forwards will look for continuity. Hazard is out and Vinicius should start on the left. Asensio should start on the Right and Benzema upfront. So Lucas Vazquez and Mariano should start from the bench.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half especially taking into consideration the team's fatigue.

The probable substitutions will be:

Asensio > Lucas Vazquez
Modric > Blanco/Arribas
Carvajal > Marvin
Benzema > Mariano
Vinicius > Arribas

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the game will be the home kit!!!

So the final starting 11 will be:
