Real Madrid Vs Chelsea: The Starting 11

The upcoming match is against Chelsea at home in the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium in the Champions League. The last Real Madrid game was against Real Betis which was a poor display in attack and led to a draw.

The team rating for the match against Betis can be found here: Team Rating

Currently Real are a recovering side, with several regulars coming back but they need to win at any cost to progress in the competition.

Looking at the

Coach Comments:
  • Zidane: "We lost 2 points. We did well in defense but in the attack we missed many things."
Other Comments:
  • Carvajal: "We'll try to win all the 15 points remaining in La Liga and await our rival's results. The calendar has been very demanding, with the fatigue and all the injuries."
Squad Updates:

This will be the Forty sixth game of the season and Real have been very inconsistent in the matches and the results, they have had 27 wins, 10 Draws and 8 losses. In the last few games the performance has been poor especially in attack and with this ailing team it is not making it any easier.

Chelsea are a good side and are good in attack and defense, so Real will need to be careful in all departments and be ready for their counters.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been in a good form. He has supported the defense very well but has not received the same from the team and with so many changes owing to injuries.

Mendy should start on the left. As Ramos is out injured, Militao and Varane should start. Carvajal is now back and will start. So Mendy, Varane, Militao and Carvajal should start. Nachi, Odriozola, Marcelo and Chust should be available as substitutes.

Modric and Kroos have been injured but have been exceptional and both should return. So, Kroos and Modric should start. So Casemiro, Modric and Kroos should be available and start. Isco, Arribas and Blanco should start from the bench.

The forwards have been poor all season except last game, Hazard is possibly back but might not start and Vinicius should start on the left, being good in the last three games. And Benzema should start upfront and Asensio on the right. Rodrygo, Mariano and Hazard should start from the Bench.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half especially taking into consideration the team's fatigue and injuries.

The probable substitutions will be:

Vinicius > Hazard
Modric > Blanco
Asensio > Rodrygo
Kroos > Isco
Mendy > Marcelo

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the game will be the home kit!!!

So the final starting 11 will be:

Mendy expected to be away
Mendy OUT <> Nacho IN

The Starting 11: Best team for the first quarter Real Madrid

Real Madrid have completed 9 matches in the La liga, which is approximately 25% of the campaign. And they have played 3 matches in Champion's league which has a maximum of 13 matches to win it. Effectively 25% of the season is over. The standings are as follows, 2nd in the league behind Barcelona, having played most of the top teams except Barcelona. If they continue the same momentum they have a good chance in the league, and just to point they have done so with several injuries. Real has lost just one match but overall performance needs improvement So the future seems bright, the team needs more consistency in defence and goal keeping. In the champion's league they are second behind PSG, who have a 100% win record. One desperate win, one tough draw and a bad loss, the shape of the team is not great. They will qualify it seems but given the easy group, things are not smooth for sure. But going ahead their solid performance is what is required. In the competitio...

Shaktar Donetsk Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match against Shaktar Donetsk is an away game in the Champions league match day 5.  The last Real Madrid game was against Alaves which was the worst performance of the season. This was pathetic display in every department leading to a dismal loss. It was the 1st home defeat to Alaves in 20 years, says volumes about the teams display. The team had 20 shots, of which 9 were on target and only 1 goal which meant the intensity in attack was totally missing. The team rating for the match against Alaves can be found here:  Team Rating This is the fifth game of the group stage and Real have no option but to win this for their fans and for themselves and to keep their chance of progression alive. Looking at the Injury list: Ramos Odriozola Valverde Hazard Carvajal Suspended : None Just recovered: Militao Benzema Practiced: The rest of the players are available for selection.  Skipped Practice: None Coach Comments: There is no explanation. The upcoming match is against Valencia away from home, currently they are at 8th and Real are 2nd on the leader-board. With equal points with Barcelona  Madrid is not going to take any risks this time again.
