Real Betis Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

 


The upcoming match is against Real Betis away from home in the La liga match day 3. Real Betis are 2nd on the leader-board after two games, winning both of them and Real are yet to win in their La liga campaign. The last Real Madrid game in the league against Real Sociedad was a goal less draw.

This being the second game of the season and missing the opportunity to win the previous game the game is very important, Madrid need to win this at any cost.

Betis away has been a difficult fixture generally, especially for Madrid, so they have to be extra carefull.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been in a good form in the last game and needs to keep the same going.

Marcelo  and Mendy are both available, but Mendy was solid last game and should get the nod ahead this time again. Ramos and Varane will start as the center backs, there is no doubt. Carvajal on the right is also a certainty. So Mendy, Varane, Ramos and Carvajal should start. Defence was solid last game but there were few errors in the last few minutes. So, the defence will have to be very careful especially against a fast attack of Betis.

Modric was really good in the last game, but was unable to create many chances and should be seen as a substitute. So it is going to be Kroos, Casemiro and Valverde in the middle. Casemiro will be needed to hold off the Betis attack and Valverde to support the attack on the right flank, which was a missing piece in the last game. Ødegaard and Modric will be on the bench and will come handy in the second half. 

The forwards have recovered from injuries but Hazard and Asensio might not get the go ahead to start. So, Vinicius is the only option on the left. Benzema will be the main striker. Rodrygo will start on the right. So Vinicius, Benzema and Rodrygo should start, and Jovic, Lucas Vazquez and Asensio should be on the bench.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half.

The probable substitutions will be: 

Rodrygo > Asensio
Mendy > Marcelo
Valverde > Ødegaard 
Kroos > Modric
Benzema > Jovic/Mayoral, seems very unlikely though

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

Real Betis Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

Before going into the next match I will rate the performance of players in the last game vs Barcelona in the El Clasico. Benzema: 5/10, Poor game that has very less involvement, only misses and bad finishes, final third game play was better than previous game but still not up to the mark. Vinicius: 9/10, Became the youngest to score in the El Clasico, had several good plays. The early yellow could have made him a little cautious but played his heart out and recovered 3-4 balls for the team. Isco: 8.5/10, Good game and a few good runs, a great shot at goal which was stopped by the keeper. He was good in distribution as well, could have taken a few more chances but was a bit of communication problem with Marcelo. Kroos: 8/10, Seemed the one to orchestrate the game. Great assist in the first goal and maintained composure throughout the game, even under pressure, coordinated well with attack and defence really well.  Casemiro: 8.5/10, What a game! Barcelona Vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match against Barcelona is an away game in the La liga match day 7. Osasuna vs Real Madrid: The Starting 11

The upcoming match is against Osasuna away from in the La liga match day 23.  Osasuna are 11th on the leader-board and Real are top of the league. This is a chance for Real to return back to winning ways and as the gap at the top is very narrow,  Madrid is not going to take any risks this time. The upcoming match is against Elche away from home in the La liga match day 16.  The last Real Madrid game was against Granada which was great result after a good second half display.
