This is the fourth game of the group stage and Real have no option but to win this for their fans and for themselves and to keep their chance of progression alive.

Squad Updates:

This will be the fourth game of the Champions league season and Real had one okay performance after two poor performances just before this match and with several players missing due to injury. Forwards are still mis-firing, defence is recovering from the disarray, and mid field is now looking better. This game is very important and would decide the chances of progressing to next round. Madrid needs to win this at any cost.

Inter has a pacy attack and their counters are good. So, Real will have to be very careful.

In the goal Courtois will start, he has been poor in the last few games, his errors have cost few points but he should be able to recover with a better defensive unit.

Mendy has to start on the left as Marcelo is no longer an option. Carvajal will start on the right and  Militao and Varane will start as the center backs, as Ramos is injured. So Mendy, Varane, Militao and Carvajal should start. Defence has been poor but signs are positive and recovery seems to be happening.

Modric has been good but his fitness is a bit of worry so should be seen as a substitute in this game after his full 90 mins in the previous match. Real needs to get the control back in the mid field. Casemiro was not great in all the previous games, he needs to improve more. Kroos, Casemiro and Ødegaard will start. And Modric and Isco will start from the bench.

The forwards have been mis-firing even now, Benzema has returned to goal scoring form but his progress was halted by injury. Vinicius was not in any sync last game and Hazard should start again. With the lack of options it will be Asensio on the right. So  Hazard, Benzema and Asensio  should form the front line.

As there are 5 substitutions available, ZZ should think for more rotations in the second half.

The probable substitutions will be:

Hazard > Vinicius
Ødegaard > Isco
Asensio > Rodrygo
Kroos > Modric
Benzema > Mariano, seems very unlikely though

So the formation would be 4 3 3.

The most probable kit to be used for the game will be the home kit !!!

So the final starting 11 will be:

Nacho for Militao
Mariano for Benzema

Real Madrid vs Manchester City: The Starting 11

Before going into the next Match I will rate the performance of players in the last game vs Levante. Benzema: 3/10, Only misses and bad finishes, final third game play missing. Hazard: 4/10, created a few chances, missed a sure 1 on 1 chance, got injured again Isco: 5/10, too much 1-2 passes and final third game play missing, need to release quicker. Good distribution outside the box. Modric: 7/10, did his bit, created ample chances, could have pressed better for the goal, but was surely a wonder strike  Casemiro: 8/10, did all he was supposed to do, took a yellow when required, made his presence felt in the attack as well, could have headed it home but missed. Kroos: 6/10, good first half, lacked the precision in the second half and after the goal seemed lost. Seemed he was out of gas. Marcelo: 7/10, did very well to be honest, some defensive lapses were there but with the amount of offensive positioning it is expected. Need to get better in crossing than this but hardly any

Before going into the next match I will rate the performance of players in the last game vs Barcelona in the El Clasico. Benzema: 5/10, Poor game that has very less involvement, only misses and bad finishes, final third game play was better than previous game but still not up to the mark. Vinicius: 9/10, Became the youngest to score in the El Clasico, had several good plays. The early yellow could have made him a little cautious but played his heart out and recovered 3-4 balls for the team. Isco: 8.5/10, Good game and a few good runs, a great shot at goal which was stopped by the keeper. He was good in distribution as well, could have taken a few more chances but was a bit of communication problem with Marcelo. Kroos: 8/10, Seemed the one to orchestrate the game. Great assist in the first goal and maintained composure throughout the game, even under pressure, coordinated well with attack and defence really well.  Casemiro: 8.5/10, What a game! With an assist or goal he would hav
